Rosanne McDermott

Rosanne is survived by her husband, William “Bill” McDermott, and her sons, William “Billy” (Kim), Ronald “Ron” (Tammy), Robert “Bob” (Lisa) and Kevin (Lindsy) McDermott. She was preceded in death by her mother Lottie (nee Wiatrowski) Johnson.

She is the beloved grandmother to Danielle (Timothy) Huesca, Kristin (Michael) Brandes, Jeremy, Jonathon, Erica, Jayna and Michael McDermott. She was also a devoted great-grandmother to Beckham and Emery Huesca and Jace Brandes.

Rosanne was born May 25, 1948 in Chicago, IL. to Lottie Johnson. After growing up in the Roseland area, she married the love of her life in March, 1965. Over the next 54 years, Rosanne and Bill shared their lives with their family members and friends.

Throughout her life, Rosanne has been a living testament of someone who placed family first. Those who knew her talk about her unbreakable bond with her husband, her complete love and devotion for her children and an unmatched adoration for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosanne leaves behind a legacy of humor (sometimes laced with profanity), love and compassion that should be emulated by all. If she was your friend, you were like family. She was fiercely loyal and extremely generous. She was a fighter, a cancer survivor, and the cornerstone of our whole world. As a family, we intend to carry on her spirit.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Rosanne’s extraordinary life. She will be greatly missed.
