Ruth M. Lorman

A longtime resident of La Porte, IN, Ruth lived a life rooted in love, family, and simple joys. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Sons; her beloved son, David Lorman; and her twelve siblings.

Ruth leaves behind her devoted husband of 74 years, Herbert Lorman; her sons, Doug (Dani) Lorman and Ron (Laura Calusa) Lorman; her sister-in-law, Pat Sons; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Ruth found happiness in the beauty of the natural world. She loved tending to her flowers, nurturing her garden, and watching the birds that visited her yard. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ruth’s honor to Dune’s Hospice.

Ruth’s gentle spirit, loving nature, and unwavering devotion to her family will be forever remembered.

A visitation to honor Ruth will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:00 am until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
