Obituary of Salvatore Vincent Anzalone
Salvatore V. Anazalone, age 28, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away November 29, 2016. Sal was born March 29, 1988 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his parents James Mark and Rochelle Halama. Also left to cherish his memory are his son, Drew Anazalone; siblings Joseph (Melissa) Halama, Michael (Stephanie) Rogers, Colin Sutter (Devin Burns), Renee (Matthew) Kunkel, Christina (Justin) Sturm, April (John) Wells, Matthew Halama, Angela (Ryan) Dzurny, Julia (Mike) Wineteer, Jay Halama; beloved girlfriend, Chelsey Weirich; many nieces and nephews, other family and many friends. Sal was a 2006 graduate of Crown Point High School. After completing the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Ivy Tech Community College, he used his education to motivate and inspire others in many different capacities. Sal’s enthusiasm and passion for life radiated through his many endeavors. His positive energy led to lifelong friendships in the service industry, and his compassion allowed him to connect deeply with his patients in physical therapy, but his proudest achievements were at Top Fuel CrossFit. His optimistic, confident and whole-hearted approach to fitness led him to become an influential mentor in the CrossFit community. He inspired individuals to establish goals, celebrated every accomplishment animatedly, and made any inadequacy feel like a victory. Sal was charismatic and encouraging, but his most identifying quality was his dedication and service to others. He also had many talents in art and music, and had the most beautiful sense of spirituality. He lived every aspect of life revealing the biggest heart, a curious mind, and an all-encompassing, selfless soul. The legacy Sal has left is a direct reflection of his effortless ability to contribute to, and embrace, the love and happiness of those around him. To continue in the remembrance of a vibrant life, Sal’s Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 12:00PM to 8:00PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave, Schererville, Indiana 46375. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support -- a life filled with love will leave an everlasting memory.
