Sam worked for the railroad for over thirty years. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite sport teams were the North Carolina Tar Heels, Chicago White Sox, and the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed attending his grandson, Mayson's, baseball games, going to the beach and listening to the waves, playing card games, and spending time with his family.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Hardison, Sr.; and his mother, Marcella Hardison; his sisters, Brenda Hardison, Patsy Cornwell and Hope Hardison; and his brother-in-law, Melvin DeRolf, Sr.
Sam is survived by his daughters, Aimee Hardison and Natalie Atkinson (Nathan); and his son, Samuel Hardison, III; his sister, Joyce DeRolf; his brothers, Steve Pedone (Kathy), Timothy Hardison, and Matthew Hardison (Marcia); his brother-in-law, Bill Cornwell; his grandson, Mayson Hardison; and his Chihuahua, Emilie.
A Visitation for Sam will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. A second Visitation will occur Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM officiated by Minister Joshua Morford of South Haven Christian Church. Sam will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN, following his Funeral Service.
