Sandra J. Morgan

Sandra J. Morgan of Schererville, Indiana formerly of Griffith, Indiana age 78, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2017 at William J. Riley Hospice with her loving family at her side. Sandra was born December 28, 1938 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Arthur and Marjorie (Hoffman) Jens. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband for over 57 years, John R. Morgan; daughter, Susan (Mark) Stanczak; son, John P. Morgan; grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Barr; sister, Lynda Mosher; and many in-laws. She began her career with Sears Roebuck in 1970 and retired in 1997 as the Human Resource Manager for Sears Logistics Services of the Chicagoland area. Sandra was a faithful 37 year member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Schererville, and served as a Democratic Lake County Precinct Committee Person. She was an avid exerciser, loyal member of red hat society, and an avid world traveler with her husband John, touring over 35 countries. Visitation will be Sunday, January 15, from 3-7pm with a wake service at 3:15 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1 W. Whilhelm St. Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Fr. Martin Dobrzynski officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
