Sharon "Sharie" L. Gross, age 65, of Schererville, IN formerly of Calumet City and Chicago, IL passed away June 29, 2018. She is survived by her loving family, her mother Avis Dianne Gross, her sister Gail Gross-Hays, brothers Bill (Sandra) Gross, Tim (Melissa) Gross, 13 nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and nephews, and her wonderful friends "The Rat Pack".
She is preceded in death by her twin sister and best friend, Susan "Susie" L. Gross, and her father William Gross.
Sharie was a dental hygienist for many years, and later obtained her Master's Degree from Rosary College in Library Science. She retired from the Chicago Public Library System. She was a lover of art and theater. Sharie was an accomplished artist, displaying her pieces at various exhibits. She was also a voracious reader of Fiction novels from first time authors.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 12:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave; Crown Point, IN 46375). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local library, Meals on Wheels, or the American Cancer Society. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
