Sherman Daryl Stamper

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Stamper; daughter, Stephanie (John) Strabavy; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Chelsae Strabavy and Caleb Strabavy; special niece, Angie (Gene) Hanson and many other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, son, brothers and sisters.

Sherman was born on July 4, 1938, in Whitesburg, KY to Troy and Minta Stamper. On February 14, 1961, he married the love of his life and together they raised one daughter. He retired from Inland Steel with 26 years of service. Sherman enjoyed Bluegrass music and watching Western movies. He was a born-again Christian attending the Assembly of God church and loved his Lord.

Sherman was a loving son, brother, husband, father and papaw and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 12:00PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Betty Hunt officiating.
