Stanley was born June 5, 1918 in Lublin, Wisconsin to the late John and Catherine (Pieck) Zajac. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife, Nettie (Terlecki) Zajac and his son, Kenneth Zajac.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Carol (Robert) Gard of Marshall, Illinios, Jean (Jim) DiBlasio of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter-in-law Marcie Zajac of Hobart, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer Gard, Sara DiBlasio, Tracy (Jeremy) Kashman, Nicole (John) Kadelak, Christina (Kevin) Sturgeon, and Joseph Zajac; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Constanzo and Virginia (Royal) Millikin.
Mr. Zajac honorably served in the United States Marine Corp serving the Pacific Theater and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Bombing. He retired from Union Carbide in 1980. Stanley was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. He also bowled for his company bowling league. He will be missed by all those who loved him.
Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2016 from 10 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating. Private burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
