Thelma Z. Hendrix

Thelma Z. Hendrix "Mom" MawMaw" (Nee Newman), of Highland, IN formerly of Hammond, IN and Greenville, KY was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday July 28, 2016 at the age of 92. Born in Beech Creek, KY, the 12th of 13 children in 1924, to Ernest and Linnie Newman; she is survived by six children: Michael (Ruth) Hendrix, David (Debbie) Hendrix, Sherry Ann (Bruce) Brown, Theresa Martin, Timothy (Kathy) Hendrix, Cynthia (John) Kaszkur; one brother, Bobby (Verna Dale) Newman; and many adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, Marvin D. Hendrix. Spending time with and nurturing family was Thelma's love and joy. She was quick-witted and spirited. She had a passion for quilting and antiquing and would rarely pass the opportunity to adventure with those who loved her so much. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Thelma requested a private funeral with her family.
