William Francis McDermott

He is survived by his sons, William "Billy" (Kimberly) McDermott, Ronald "Ron" McDermott, Robert "Bobby" (Lisa) McDermott, and Kevin (Lindsy) McDermott; grandchildren, Danielle (late Tim) Huesca, Kristin (Michael) Brandes, Jeremy (Sydney) McDermott, Jonathon (Molly) McDermott, Erica (Devin) Hatfield, Jayna (Nathan) Dawson, and Michael McDermott; great-grandchildren, Beckham Huesca, Emery Huesca, Jace Brandes, Callie Huesca, Gemma Brandes, Crew Dawson, and Everlee Hatfield; sister, Maureen McDermott; and dear friend, Jackie Graves.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanne (nee Johnson) McDermott; brothers, Thomas and Richard McDermott; and parents, Thomas Francis McDermott and Edith Hamel Wohlman.

As per his wishes, Bill will be cremated, and a private family service will be held. Bill's final place of rest will be Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.

Bill was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and loving great-grandfather, who treasured his family above all else. He was a loyal friend to many, known for his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit. Bill also held a special place in the hearts of his sons’ friends, earning the cherished title of everyone’s favorite dad. His love of family, gift for friendship, and the happiness he brought to so many lives will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
