Bettina Medaris Bosell, 74, of Dallas, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, following a courageous, year-long battle with cancer. Her remarkable spirit and unwavering strength remained evident until the very end.
Born in Dallas, TX, on June 6, 1951, Bettina was truly a woman in a league of her own, defined by her sharp intelligence, kind hearted humor, and an unmistakable, spirited spunk. A proud Dallas native, she graduated from Kimball High School before furthering her education at the University of North Texas, where she distinguished herself by earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. A beautiful contradiction to those who knew her best, she was a deeply private person who simultaneously possessed a wonderfully gregarious soul. Her loving husband, Scott, would affectionately tease her about her Gemini nature, joking that he never quite knew which delightful version of Bettina he would be waking up with each morning.
Bettina enjoyed a highly varied and successful professional career, marked by her incredible work ethic and ability to connect with others. In her early professional years, she held a fast track management position at Southwestern Bell, a time made even more special as it was there she met Courtney, who would become a cherished, lifelong friend. After later transitioning into a role as a stockbroker, she ultimately found her true calling and professional niche as a membership director. For thirteen years, she brought her vibrant energy and welcoming spirit to ClubCorp, followed by a rewarding nine year tenure at the Park City Club before finally enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
She and Scott shared twenty-seven wonderful, adventure filled years of marriage. Together, they loved to travel the world and explore new horizons. After Scott introduced her to the game of golf, she discovered a true passion for the sport, and they shared countless happy hours on the golf course, forging enduring friendships along the way. Possessing a seemingly limitless supply of energy, yet perfectly skilled at the art of unwinding, Bettina deeply cherished her friendships. Later in life, she found a new and exciting joy in playing Mahjong with her close-knit circle of friends at the Brookhaven Country Club.
A voracious, lifelong reader, she always found immense solace, relaxation, and joy in the pages of a good book. Deeply spiritual and endlessly inquisitive, she lived her life guided by the poignant words of her favorite poem, Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. She truly embodied its final, uplifting instruction: "Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." Her radiant smile and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elbert Medaris and Mary Francis Stroup. Her beautiful legacy lives on through her surviving family: her devoted husband of twenty-seven years, Scott Bosell; stepsons Ben Bosell (Rebecca) and Sam Bosell (Pili); sister Cherry Gray (James); adored grandchildren Isabella, Bode, and Mateo; nephew Mike Mills (Sherry); niece Jennifer Reed (Glenn); along with several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at:
