Blair Bennett James
March 3, 1994 – November 4, 2018
Blair Bennett James, age 24, daughter of Lori A James and Bobby G James, of Parker, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Blair was born Thursday, March 3, 1994 in Richardson.
Blair grew up in Plano and Parker, Texas with big brother Zachary and little brother Russell. She gained the nickname Blair-Bear when she was young. Blair had two speeds as a child; full speed and complete chillin’- no in-between with her. Blair would play till she dropped. Always up early without an alarm and most times before her parents. She wasn’t your girlie-girl and had a fire inside her that burned so bright her soul, at times, could barely contain it. Playing outdoors more than indoors- Blair on most nights fell sleep on the couch from exhaustion, with Daddy carrying her to bed and reading her favorite book. “If You Give a Moose a Muffin”
Blair attended Plano East Senior High and graduated in 2012. She went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University. She won awards for her American Sign Language ability. She could sign a song and with her beauty, smile and personality the song came to life. She grew up in the Baptist faith, attending Meadows Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. As a teenager Blair loved “buddying-up” with Mom leading the music every year at Vacation Bible School.
Blair was definitely a dog-lover. As a child her Lizzy, a Maltipoo was always by her side, and as an adult Millie, her Labrador was her best buddy. Dog parks and long dog-walks just gave Blair more opportunities to be outside. Long days with Millie lead to long Netflix watching evenings snuggle up on her couch. She enjoyed any outdoor activity that required a motor and speed. Blair loved the thrill of speed. She loved to drive her go-cart and 4-wheeler too fast for her Dad’s liking. Blair was an excellent wakeboarder and the tubing Champion of the Household. She also could Slalom water-ski with gusto. Blair was a warm-climate girl mostly. She enjoyed snowboarding and skiing, but that was a distant second to warm sunshine and on the lake activities.
Blair had to have music in her days. Her genre ranged from country to rap, but it had to have a beat to be one of her favorites. Attending concerts and live-music was a top priority for weekend outings. As a young girl Blair loved the movie “Grease” with John Travolta. Blair was convinced Danny Zuco was her future perfect match.
Blair will be remembered as a giver to all and one who loved to meet new people. Life was an adventure to Blair. Blair was one of the top “over-talker” you will ever meet. Her never-ending enthusiasm leads her to finish people’s sentences and stories- even if they don’t need her assistance. She had a soft heart for people in need. Lending a helping hand or a few dollars gave Blair joy. Not so much in the formal charitable sense- just when she saw someone struggling she didn’t hesitant. With the many wonderfully different ways to describe Blair effervescent best describes her.
God and Heaven has received an Angel that will give and give, but she will request a pair of “Turbo-charged wings!”
Jesus: The true vine: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27 NIV)
