Brandon Michael Doty
February 9, 1982 – November 25, 2019
Brandon Michael Doty, age 37 passed away on Monday November 25, 2019. Brandon was born Tuesday February 9, 1982 in El Paso, Texas to Robyn Armstrong McDaniel and Robert Steven Doty.
Brandon grew up in El Paso, Texas till he graduated from Franklin High School when he moved to Frisco, Texas to live with his mom. Brandon loved school all 12 years! In middle school and high school, Brandon excelled at swimming. He started swimming at Coronado Country Club and continued in high school. He was on his high schools swim team where he swam the breaststroke, free style and relay. He won numerous ribbons and trophies. One of his favorite places to be was in the water. His passion for swimming showed every time he would get in the water. His breast stroke was like no other.
In high school he was on the debate team that went to state and he was also Homecoming Prince.
Brandon lived in Dallas, Texas till his passing.
Brandon loved life! He would make anyone feel beautiful and loved so easily. When Brandon walked into the room people knew and gravitated to him. Brandon was always right!! There was no arguing with him. It became such a funny joke that even when he found out he was incorrect.. he said he was right. No getting around it. He never liked getting his hands dirty. He enjoyed doing makeup for others and he did an amazing job at it.
Every time a beauty pageant was on, he would pick and write down his top 5 before it started. More times than not he was right. He and his mom would go back and forth during the pageants talking about the dresses.. the interviews etc. Don't call Brandon when a pageant was on because he was not going to pick up the phone!
He loved listening to music. Britney Spears, Celine Dion Whitney Houston (his 1st concert), Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera and anything on IHeart radio. Brandon LOVED watching the Golden Girls. That by far was his favorite show! He would really watch it every night! He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.
Brandon loved God and was a Christian. He attended Catholic church while growing up.
Brandon always believed in doing the right thing for people and it didn't matter how big or small. He wanted other to know how important they were and how he believed in them. He was a great boss and mentor to many over his working years.
He will be greatly missed by many, many friends and family.
He loved being with his family and he LOVED his sibling Jason, Corey, Britt and Shelby. Making jokes and laughing with his siblings was something that happened every time they were together as a family. He called his Ma everyday. His Papa was his go to guy. He loved him so much.

Brandon was truly one of a kind. He loved life, all his friends and family with his whole heart. I met him my Junior year at Franklin after moving from Del Rio,Tex. He was such a kind sweet soul and had the most infectious laugh! I’m glad we kept in touch throughout the years and am Blessed to have called him my friend. I just wish we had more time. I know he’s up there watching over everyone. Love you Brandon!

Trey:Even tho I (Trey) dated Brandon for a short three months he impacted me tremendously he made me feel like I was the only person in the world that mattered when we were together he made me happy and grateful for life.
Maddie: With the amount of times I went with trey to pick Brandon up and we hung out it was phenomenal and amazing because we would just sit and talk all night with each other and I know that when my daughter gets older just based on what we will tell her she will love Brandon more then she already does because every time he came over and she was with us she would always run straight to Brandon and give him giant hugs and loved putting lotion on with him they did that religiously and she loved all his bracelets

Brandon, my heart broke when I heard of your passing; you were taken from this earth much too soon. Although I only had the pleasure of knowing you for a short time, you left a definite imprint on my heart. While you lived in Tucson, I was proud to be your best friend. You kept a smile on my face and had a way of always uplifting my spirits. I think the Universe brought us together to help each other heal; we were both a bit broken, but together we seemed to create a harmony, beautifully woven from not only our adversities, but most importantly, from our mutual goodness. I'm captivated by the number of lives your beautiful soul touched; to see such an outpouring of love is absolutely astonishing, and I feel so fortunate to have been touched by your radiant spirit. You were a vivacious person, Brandon, and your energy was positively infectious. Thank you for being my friend. Your sparkle shall live on. Fly high, angel.

I met Brandon through Harlan this past year. Brandon was so adorable. He had a great sense of humor. He was always kind and thoughtful. He laughed a lot and cherished life. He loved the Lord and counted on Him to see him through . His vibrant personality always made him fun to be around. I know he is in heaven with Jesus. I will miss his smile and his laughter.
My prayers are for his family and friends to have peace during this difficult time. May God be with you. Warmest regards, Kay Caldwell

When I think about high school and the few years following, I can’t think of a memory that doesn’t include Brandon. Everyday he made me laugh. Everyday was an adventure. We were young and full of what we thought were great ideas, they usually weren’t, but we did everything together. I am so blessed to have had that time with you Brandon and I will always cherish our memories. I love you!

What can I say? That I will never meet another guy like Brandon! That's a given. He has no equal. Positivity, charisma, humor, and empathy were second nature to him. He made hard times so enjoyable it was mind boggling.
As the closest of friends it's a bit hard to put into words, but I feel like our personalities were just meant to jive. Bow ties, always clowning with funny jokes, whispering funny secrets, trips to anywhere for no reason, these are all my losses. I know I'll see you again, to watch the Voice, go swimming, watch Netflix, eat ice cream, and to enjoy each other's company. Oh, and thank you for being there always and gifting me your friendship. Love always. Missing you.

2 years ago my world was forever changed when Brandon aka: Barbara walked in for an interview at Bath and Body Works Watters Creek. He walked in dressed so dang cute with his little bow tie and that smile and I immediately wanted know him. After his interview was done I asked my manager to PLEASE hire him. Our store and team needed someone like him there. His personality, charm, positivity, cute little sayings like Shiza Minelli, Shoot a Pickle, we all needed and wanted to be working the days he did. His customers loved him and still ask about him. He brought so much joy to the work place. For me personally he had become so much more than a co-worker he was my best friend he was my Barbara and I his Betty. I dont remember how or why we came up with those nick names but it tickled us when we used them. I enjoyed our lunch dates, thrift shopping trips, quick stops at each others jobs just to say HELLO because we were both busy but wanted to see each other for a hug and a quick chat. Late night phone calls because we had a rough day and we needed to vent to someone to make it better. He made my world better, he was always telling me you can do anything you put your mind to you are smart and you know what your doing just believe in yourself like i do. My heart is broken for everyone who loved him but I know it will heal. I am so thankful for having the pleasure of knowing such a beautiful kind momma loving and God loving soul like his. Love you always and forever Barbara ❤ Mickey aka: Betty

Brandon brought me so many moments of laughter. We met our junior year of high school. That summer btwn junior and senior year, we worked together at Coronado Country Club together poolside. He got me an interview the same day he put in a good word for me with our manager, Sonny. I was to have my meeting with him after school that day but was concerned bc I had my cheerleading uniform on, which involved a very short skirt. Brandon said “oh no! You HAVE to wear it. You’ll be a shoe in!” Hahahaha. He even got me a job with his grandmother Donna selling perfume at Cielo Vista mall. Some of my favorite moments together were driving around El Paso in his red Pontiac Sunfire. Livin’ la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin was our favorite. Brandon had an infectious laughter. If you could get him laughing, you felt like you were doing something right! I adore him and will miss him dearly.

Brandon was one of the best memories I have of my time at bath and body works. He NEVER had a day where he wasn’t lighting up the entire store with joy and smiles... any time I came to work in an off-bad mood, he was always so incredibly supportive and kind... always knew exactly what to say and it was never a lie. He was always one to shoot straight with you no matter what.. I cried when I moved here to NJ and I had to leave bath and body works.. every single time I was home I made it a point to see how he was doing and to try and meet up for coffee and a catch up. Brandon, you were and are such a light in so many lives and I’m so thankful my world got crossed with yours. You will be so missed. Love you so much!

So thankful for my big brother. Thank you for being my light in such a dark world. Wish things could have been different in many ways but you always had the most positive outlook on life. I will now carry that with me. Tell nana to save me some pasta up there. Love you forever and ever.
