Charles Richard Bertrand

Mr. Charles R. Bertrand of Jackson, Mississippi passed away on June 4, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. He was born August 25, 1922 to Charles F. and Mable W. Bertrand. Mr. Bertrand was raised in Meridian, Mississippi and spent his entire adult life in Jackson. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and was a retired Army Major, who served in WWII. Mr. Bertrand worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 37 years. He was an avid tennis player for many years and once served as President of River Hills Tennis Club. Mr. Bertrand is preceded in death by his wife Ava and daughter Judy Daves. He is survived by his daughter Pat and son-in-law Jerry Whitehead, granddaughters Kelly Orms and Colleen Burrows all of Dallas, Texas and two grandsons Sean and Cory Daves of Hernando, Mississippi. Covenant Presbyterian Church provided generous support and comfort to Charles over the past few years which allowed him to stay in his home where he was at peace and the family is extremely grateful.
