Please join us for a Celebration of Cindy's life at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 9th at Mt. Moriah, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, Mo. Afterwards, we will share stories and memories at Merle's American Tavern, 21900 Branic Drive, Peculiar, MO, United States, 64078.
A bright, shining light who brought instant joy to every room she entered, Cindy always cared deeply for others and dedicated her life to putting big smiles on the faces of everyone around her. She was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Cindy lived a vibrant life filled with passion, creativity, and adventure. An accomplished artist, she expressed her talents through drawing, painting, and sketching. Having moved across the country several times alongside her beloved husband, Bruce, she channels her artistic eye into transforming each new house into a beautiful home through endless decorating and redecorating projects. When she wasn't indoors creating, Cindy could almost always be found working with her hands in her gardens and yard, playing a round of golf, traveling to new places, or warmly entertaining friends and family.
Her love story with Bruce was one of a kind. The couple married at Blackbeard’s Castle in Charlotte Amalie, with her parents standing by their sides as bridesmaid and best man, a uniquely special event made unforgettable through Cindy’s personal, artistic touches.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bruce Stearns; her three brothers, Christopher (Cindy) Slimm, Victor (Julie) Slimm, and Matthew (Holly Brucker) Slimm; her cherished nieces and nephews, Carly, Mark, Phillip, Jacob, and Chloe; as well as a wide, loving circle of extended family and dear friends.
Cindy’s remarkable life will be celebrated during a private family ceremony in Overland Park, Kansas. In lieu of flowers or donations, Cindy’s final request would be for everyone to take a moment to hug someone they love today.
