Deborah Diane Gonzales was born on August 25, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Rosa H. Gonzales and Domingo V. Gonzales. She died peacefully on December 6, 2021. She is predeceased by her father and her sister, Elizabeth J. Gonzales. She is survived by her mother, Rosa, her siblings, Rose Boisse, and husband Julian, Mike Gonzales, and wife Pam, and Andy Gonzales, and wife Leah, her beloved niece and nephews, JB Boisse, and wife Anna, Jessica Gonzalez, and husband Jesse, Jason Boisse, and wife Christin, John Boisse, Sam Gonzales and Miles Gonzales, and great nieces and nephews, Lily Gonzalez, Max Gonzalez, London Boisse, Quinn Boisse, Eli Boisse, Ryen Boisse and Will Boisse.
Debbie grew up in Pleasant Grove, a suburb of Dallas. She graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School. After graduation, her first real job was at Montgomery Wards Department Store where she worked in customer service. Part of her job was gift wrapping. She could make crisp corners but wasn’t really interested in the bows and frills. The next job opportunity was at JCP Insurance where she was a Product Set Up Business Analyst. Although the company changed hands a few times, she remained with the company for more than 40 years, until her retirement in 2020.
Debbie and her sisters were very close and enjoyed spending time together. At Christmas time they would spend a weekend baking goodies for family and friends while blasting Christmas music and singing and dancing around the kitchen. Family was very important to Debbie. She loved her niece and nephews, JB, Jessica, Jason and John. She spent a lot of time with them and would do things with them and for them that would never be considered for others. She was loving and very generous to them but they all knew, you do not mess with Aunt Debbie.
Debbie had many friends who were dear to her. She could be hard, brutally honest and not the most patient person. This was all some people saw. If she let you in, you would find the real Debbie. The kind, thoughtful and soft-hearted person who would love you with her whole heart and would give you the shirt off her back.
She loved sports. The Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers were her favorite teams. The family spent many Sundays tailgating in the living room screaming at the TV hoping for a Cowboy win.
Debbie’s life was filled with laughter among her family and friends. Her smile, and almost silent wheezy laugh, will be missed by everyone who held her dear. Her absence will be felt but her hard work, loyalty and generosity will not be forgotten.
