Donald Glynn Harbin, age 75, passed away on March 5, 2022, in Plano, Texas. He was born in Eastland, Texas on September 7, 1946, with his fraternal twin brother (Ronald Lynn) to parents John Roy Harbin and Thelma Mae (Dabbs) Harbin. He was the youngest of 14 siblings, which consisted of 8 boys and 6 girls. He was raised in Kermit, Texas where he graduated from Kermit High School in 1964. He attended Angelo State University and UT Arlington from 1964 to 1966. In 1967, Glynn proudly enlisted in the US Army to serve his country in the Infantry Division and climbed the ranks from a Private (E1) to a Sergeant (E5). Glynn served in the Vietnam War from February 1968 to January 1969 and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Rifle Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. He completed his military service in the Army Reserve in 1973 and was Honorably Discharged.
Glynn married his high school sweetheart, Judy Ruff, in 1966 and the couple had two boys, Danny (1967) and Richard (1969). After his divorce in 1974, he later married Sharon Wood and they had a daughter Michelle (1980). He worked in a variety of industries consisting of Health and Food Inspection, Roughnecking in the West Texas Oil Fields, Maintenance at Highland Park Independent School District, to finishing his working career at Wilmar Industries as a Field Service Representative.
Glynn enjoyed spending time writing, studying the Bible, watching old Westerns, mentoring and helping others that struggled with alcohol addiction, fixing anything that was broken, and spending time with his family and friends. Glynn was a devoted man of his faith and was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church.
Glynn was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Darvin Harbin, Dale Harbin, Wallace Harbin, Wade Harbin, and twin brother Lynn Harbin, and his sisters Doris Wyatt, Loree Foster, and Betty Kimball.
Glynn is survived by his sons, Danny Harbin, Richard Harbin and wife Laura; daughter Michelle Stahlmann and husband Joe; grandchildren Madison Harbin, Katelyn Harbin, Catherine Harbin, Daniel Harbin, Emma Stahlmann, Tessa Stahlmann, and Brooklyn Stahlmann; brother Wayne Harbin, and sisters Patsy Herrington and Shirley Evans; sister in-laws Margaret Harbin and Linda Harbin Sheppard; and also, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
A visitation will be held with the family prior to the memorial service on Friday, March 11th at 11am at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home located at 7990 President George Bush, Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252. His remains will be rested at the Dallas National Cemetery at a later date.
