Dorothy Mae Cade

Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Dorothy was born on December 23, 1928, and died May 15, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born the 7th of eight children to William Irvin and Minnie Mae Davis in Wellington, Kansas. In October 1949, she married Raford Cade. In 1953, son James Roger was born. They moved to Richardson, Texas in 1955 and welcomed Julie, Suzanne, and Jeffrey Charles to the family.

Dorothy was a devoted mother and was active in all her children's interests.

As the children got older, she was a right hand in many of Raford's business endeavors.

Raford and Dorothy enjoyed traveling, many cruises at sea, the family lake house at Cypress Springs and especially spending time with loved ones.

Dorothy lost Raford to Covid on November 23, 2020, after 71 years of marriage.

Dorothy is survived by son Roger and wife Camilla, son Jeff and wife Lisa, and daughter Julie and husband George Holwerda.

She was a wonderful grandmother to Chelsea (Grayson) Nichols, Jeff (Tara) Versfelt, Kat (Cameron) Waldo and Seth, Stephanie and Stacy Holwerda. Dorothy enjoyed her great grandchildren Jog and Jovie Nichols, Cash and Sloan Versfelt and Cade Waldo.

We would like to express our many thanks to the staff at Fountain View for the excellent care given to our mother over the last 3 1/2 years. She is missed immensely but we are at peace knowing she is free of all pain and suffering.
