

Ed served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. During WWII he served as a Navigator on C-46 and C-47 cargo planes in New Guinea, the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan for three years, was engaged in eight combat missions and received the Air Medal, the Air Defense Service Medal with eight stars, the Presidential Unit Citation and five other medals. For 23 years he was in the Air Force Reserve.
He graduated from SMU with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at Texas Instruments for 24 years, followed by 9 years as a consultant on military electronics.
Ed and Betty were married in 1951 and resided in Richardson, where he worked for T.I. After retiring, they moved to Cibolo, Texas, to be near Randolph Air Force Base, and they were able to pursue their love of traveling and cruised to all seven continents. In 2009 they moved to Plano, Texas, to reside at Atria Senior Living and to be near their daughter, Karen, who lives in Richardson.
