Edward Thomas Monaghan of Richardson, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022, after 85 years spent with us as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ed was born on February 15, 1937, to Francis and Edward Monaghan of Pocahontas, Iowa.
Ed attended Marquette University for an opportunity to play on the Freshman basketball team. He transferred to Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa graduating with a BS Degree in Business Economics.
Ed was married to his high school sweetheart, Joanne Scott Monaghan for 63 years. The Lord blessed them with a son, Scott Monaghan, his wife Lauri, their daughters Megan and Hannah, and a daughter Suzie Monaghan Graham, husband Chase, their daughter Mary-Michael and son Jack. His family provided Ed with years of joy and great times while celebrating holidays, vacations and birthdays all filled with love for one another. Ed never missed a game or school event. Ed is also survived by his sister, Mary Ellen McCartan and preceded in death by his brother Don Monaghan.
Ed was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in numerous activities that served our Lord. Weeks before his death, he continued to volunteer at the NTFB Food Network for hunger relief.

During those years, Ed was on the Board of Governors of the Dallas Apparel Mart and Member of the CEO Institute of the Dallas 100.
Ed played a mean game of tennis and a lousy game of golf. His favorite times included vacationing at Lake Okoboji, Iowa, the Big Island and Maui, Hawaii, and all the time spent with the love of his life, Joanne, at ball games, vacations, and Friday night date night out for Mexican Food. He will be remembered for his unyielding faith, devotion to family, personable nature, and passion for sports (playing and watching). He will be dearly missed.
