Elizabeth Dennie, 85, of Dallas, Texas went to be with her Lord on April 12, 2021. Elizabeth Jeanette Sytz was born on March 29, 1936 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Clarence Edward Sytz and Maria Helen Voorhees Sytz. After graduating from Dyersburg High School in 1954, Elizabeth became a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority while continuing her education at The University of Tennessee. She graduated in 1958 with a bachelors degree in Home Economics. On June 27, 1958 Elizabeth married her childhood sweetheart, David Garrett Dennie Jr., in Dyersburg, Tennessee. They were loyal to their love for each other for the next 62 years. Together they raised four beautiful daughters, often referred to as “The Dennie Girls”. She loved being a mom and stayed very involved in every aspect of their lives. Elizabeth was lovingly known as “Grams” to her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Elizabeth adored each one of them dearly and always made sure to take part in any moments they would all be together. On game nights with her children and grandchildren you would find her cooking up one of their favorite recipe’s, laughing, and making memories. During her working years Elizabeth taught elementary school and later fulfilled a dream by opening and proudly owning The Stork Shop in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Elizabeth loved sports. She enjoyed swimming and was an avid tennis and basketball fan. She never missed a college basketball game, especially during March Madness, as she enjoyed talking on the phone with her extended family members about each game. Sunday’s were for fellowship and she was a faithful member of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee and most recently Frisco First United Methodist Church in Frisco, Texas. Elizabeth’s first and greatest love was her husband, David. Their love for each other was seen miles away by anyone they came in contact with. A friend recently shared that Elizabeth was “an amazing and delightful person, deep in kindness and pure in motive”. Elizabeth will always be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Elizabeth is preceded in death by the love of her life, David Dennie; son-in-law Duane Harris; her parents, Clarence and Helen Sytz; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Lynn Lipson; sister-in-law Sachi Sytz; extended family, Julie Lipson and Trevor Lipson.
