Eugene Roy Camanga Jr., age 59, of Plano, TX died peacefully in his residence on December 21, 2010. Gene was born on September 13, 1951 in New Orleans, LA. He is the son of Dolores and Roy Camanga and graduated from the University of New Orleans. He was employed by Alcatel-Lucent as a project manager.
Gene loved riding his custom Harley, named “Wild Cherry,” as long as the destination was within 20 miles, the temperature wasn’t below 50, there was no chance of rain puddles, and there was a food stop. He also loved to frequently entertain by having poolside crawfish boils. Another passion of his was building his computer. In fact, he built a computer large enough to run a good size company. He had a great sense of humor and always had a great joke to tell. You never wanted to challenge Gene to a game of pool, because chances are you would end up with the short end of the stick. He also always had to have the latest & greatest gadgets, including his latest favorite, the egg puncturing scrambler (Why scramble after cracking an egg open?) and his recent purchase of a PS3 with steering wheel and pedals and an assortment of driving games. Gene enjoyed being a member of Panther Creek Hog and The Royal Order of Jesters, Dallas Court. Gene always wanted to have a good time and loved great food, he will be missed greatly.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Nichole Renee Camanga, his mother, Dolores Camanga, and his girlfriend, Michele Drake.
Memorial services will be held at 4 PM Monday December 27, 2010 at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home Chapel.
