Frances Annette Estes, 82, of Allen, Texas passed away at her home on January 28th, 2020. She had a radiance about her that immediately attracted others to her. She was a giver of her love and friendship, both unconditionally. She was ready with a kind or encouraging word โ€“ or just a smile and a hug.

Fran was born on September 23rd, 1937, in Wood County, Texas to Marie and Roy Cox. She married Cliff Estes on September 24, 1960. They had two children, Brad and Valarie. She was a full time Mom and loved every minute of it. A true love developed when she became a grandmother. Annie and Preston put joy in her heart and a brilliant smile on her face. She never missed a game, a recital or a performance.

Fran had a passion for square dancing. She was a long-time member of the Texas Reelers Square and Round Dance Club. Fran deeply cherished the friendships that she made here. When Cliff retired, they embarked upon journeys that took them on cruises to Alaska, the Emerald Isle and to beautiful beaches on every shore. Even a trip to Oktoberfest in Germany. She and Cliff went many places, had great adventures โ€“ hand in hand. Fran truly lived life to the fullest until she was called home.

In addition to her husband Cliff, Fran is survived by her children, Brad and Valarie (Sean), Granddaughter Annie, Grandson Preston, sister Thelma Wansley, and brothers Robert and Willford Cox, her Best Friend Margaret and countless friends that love her.

A Celebration of Franโ€™s life will be held at 11:00 Saturday, February 1st at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Dallas, 75252

I am so sorry we couldn't be with you, but know it was breaking my heart that my physical instability would not allow us to come. Sweet Fran is smiling that precious smile down at me right now in understanding and taking my hand as she always did. We shared closeness in age and many of the same ailments and precious memories. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” I already miss you, dear friend. Help the Angels sing!

Fran and Cliff have become two of my favorite people over this last year as I became the manager of our little coffee shop. I always looked forward to their visits and her hugs. During this time, Fran became more than a customer. She became a true friend. She would walk in and fill our place with love and warmth. She was always excited to try our new inventions and give me feed back. We had many conversations about our families and life challenges. She was full of love, wisdom and amazing in-site. I will truly miss my friend.

Fran was such a sweet and lovely lady. We lived across the street from Fran, but back then I called her Mrs. Estes. I will always remember all of the good times we all had on Greenbriar. There are so many things that I remember about her. I can still remember how she would laugh at every funny thing and the sound of her laughter. And, she made the best homemade pineapple ice cream. It was my favorite! Please know that she was so well loved by everyone that I know who knew her, and that she will be sorely missed by all.

Fran was a regular at the coffee shop that I work at. Her presence and love was felt from the moment she walked in those front doors every day. She radiated positivity and joy, and her smile was so contagious. She also made the BEST peanut clusters I've ever had in my life. May peace be with Cliff and her family. She was loved by so many and impacted those around her in such a positive way. Her web of love stretched so far. She will truly be missed.

Franโ€™s love of people, readiness to embark on a trip be it for the day or for a week, and inner strength to keep going when her body was weak were inspirations to us. So glad our paths crossed- so glad Sally saw Fran one last time on Monday evening with her beloved Texas Reelers Square Dance Club fellow members. You will be missed and remembered.

Fran and I grew up together in Wood County, went to school and attended church together. We came to Dallas together attended business school and lived together until I married in l958. We were great friends and even though our lives took different paths we remained friends forever. Fran was truly a giver of her love to her family and friends. It did not matter how long it had been between our visits on the phone or in person we just seemed to pick up right where we left off - True Friends! We loved her so much . We pray the Lord will comfort you in this journey as you trod on.
