

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Guadalupe "Lupe" Lopez on September 28th, 2025. A long-time and respected member of Knights of Columbus Council 11716, a devoted Prince of Peace parishioner, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and cherished friend to many, his absence will be felt.
Born on August 30, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to Guadalupe Lopez Sr. and Rosie Serna Lopez, Lupe’s life was marked by unwavering faith, steadfast dedication, and a spirit of service. Raised in a close-knit family, Lupe learned the values of hard work and humility from an early age. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and a deep sense of responsibility that carried through every chapter of his life.
Lupe proudly served in the United States Army, where he demonstrated courage, discipline, and loyalty to his country. During his tenure with the Army he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Expert commendations.
In addition to his military service, he pursued higher education and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of North Texas. Armed with determination and integrity, Lupe built a successful career at Maytag, rising to the role of Vice President of Sales. His leadership and mentorship left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Lupe was deeply committed to his faith and community. As a devoted parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, he embodied the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. His presence at church events, council meetings, and charitable initiatives was a source of inspiration and joy.
Lupe is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Lopez Sr and Rosie Serna Lopez.
Lupe is survived by his Sister, Dora Lopez Partida and her husband Joe; his brother, Tommy Lopez; his niece Rosanna Guzman and her husband Rick; his niece JoAnn Partida; his niece Tonya Middleton and her husband Brian; his nephew Tommy Lopez Jr and his wife Dez; and 9 great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his Brother Knights, who faithfully assisted and comforted Lupe throughout his illness. Their compassion and fellowship were a testament to the bonds of brotherhood that Lupe so deeply cherished.
His legacy of kindness, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Rosary service will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Thursday, October 9th, beginning at 7 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held the day following at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, October 10th, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
