Hilda Menendez Uribe

Born in Havana, Cuba, to Jose and Adolfina Menendez, Hilda lived a life defined by faith, education, resilience, and love. A gifted scholar, she earned multiple degrees including an M.A. in Linguistics, and carried a lifelong passion for teaching, learning, language, and intellectual curiosity. Boosting her career as a bilingual marketing executive. Her wisdom, determination, and grace left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Faith was the cornerstone of Hilda's life, as a devout Catholic. As a devoted member of the Christian Life Community (CLC), she approached each day with conviction, compassion, and unwavering trust in God. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, serving as an enduring example to her family and community.

While her accomplishments were many, Hilda's greatest pride and joy was her family. Her three children were the center of her world, and she delighted in watching her family grow through generations. The arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness and fulfilled one of her life's greatest blessings.

Hilda is lovingly survived by her children, Victoria Martinez, Rebecca Longoria and husband Richard, and David Uribe and wife Kaydean.

She was a cherished grandmother to Julian Martinez and wife Bianca, Damian Martinez, Alexia Romo and husband Miguel, Lauren Martinez and husband James, Nicolas Longoria, and Sebastian Longoria and wife Julianna.

She was also blessed with six beloved great-grandchildren: Mateo Romo, Katalina Martinez, Liliana Romo, Sofia Romo, Havana Longoria, and Annalia Martinez, each of whom brought endless joy to her life.

Hilda is also survived by her sisters, Delores Moore and husband Clay, Patricia Gomez and husband Hector, along with five nephews, and a niece, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Adolfina Menendez.

Those who knew Hilda will remember her as a woman of remarkable strength, profound intelligence, and steadfast faith. She was caring, compassionate, and unwavering in her devotion to her family and her beliefs. Whether offering guidance, sharing her wisdom, or simply providing comfort through her presence, Hilda touched countless lives with her kindness and grace.

Her family will remember her not only for her accomplishments and strength, but for the love she freely gave, the values she instilled, and the example she set. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and inspired.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Reception to follow immediately after the service.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort knowing that Hilda's life was firmly rooted in faith and that her legacy of love, education, perseverance, and devotion will continue to guide us for years to come.

May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Lord, for your faithful people life is changed not ended.
