Hung Chau, 56, of Murphy, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022. He was born and raised in Vung Tau, Viet Nam, until his family moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he graduated from Parkview High School.
Hung was a faithful and dedicated employee of Fujitsu Network Communications for more than 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, karaoke nights at family gatherings, attending music concerts at the casino, watching Chinese martial arts films, and buying scratch-off lottery tickets as gifts for family. Hung was a secret gamer at heart, as he enjoyed playing video games. He also had quite the green thumb, having grown a variety of vegetables in his garden. He loved the water from a young age, as his hometown in Viet Nam was right on the ocean. His favorite color was red as it symbolizes luck, happiness, vitality and fortune in Chinese culture. He made it a priority to go to the Buddhist temple on Lunar New Year.
Hung was a private and reserved man. He enjoyed peace and quietness. He loved his kids more than anything in life, and considered them his most prized possessions. He was willing to do anything and everything for his kids, even if it means he has to give up something, including his pride. He was very encouraging, thoughtful, considerate and respectful of everyone around him. He was always easygoing, patient and calm as he never lost his temper. He always made time for his family and those close to him.
He had a great sense of humor and loved joking around just to crack a smile on a person's face; he was never afraid to unleash his flatulence. Hung had plenty of sayings that he was known for, including "Hey man! How are you doing man?", "What's up man?", “Mannnn”, “Talk to the hand!”, or "Si cà be,” an inside joke with his kids when looking at old pictures. Anytime he would sneeze and you told him “bless you,” he would always respond with “you’re welcome.” His comedic personality and his devotion to family will always be remembered and cherished by all who loved and knew him.
Hung was preceded in death by his mother, Hoa Truong in 1995; brother, Paul Hoa Chau in 2019; and nephew, Nathan Chau in 2021. Hung is survived by his two children, Richard and Erica Chau of Allen, Texas; siblings: Minh, Nam, Van, Kim, and Vinh - all from the North Dallas Suburbs; and his Significant Other: Lan Le of Murphy, Texas.
Hung’s ashes are at the Buddhist Temple, Chùa Đạo Quang, 3536 N. Garland Ave., Garland, Texas 75040, in the Bảo Tháp building, K103 (when entering the building, it's on the right hand side of the building wall).
