He was a loving and devoted husband, father of seven, grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of four. He cherished his family above all else in life.
Although not a native Texan, he quickly adopted Texas as his home state and where he would meet the love of his life, Nettie. Jim and Nettie celebrated 63 years of marriage together.
He was a pioneer in the computer industry with tenure at EDS, Digital Equipment Corporation and HP.
Never one to sit still for long and always in a hurry for life’s next adventure, he drove like he was in the Indy 500. Jim enjoyed travel and did so extensively with family and for business, but his family always came first.
Jim served his Catholic community throughout his life, and later, he volunteered at the local hospital. He was always willing to help another in need, a friend to all, and a role model to many. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in his honor. Due to the pandemic, the family would like to keep the gathering intimate. Please contact a family member for more details.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Please designate your donation to research where it may benefit the greatest good.
