

James “Jim” Kevin Harrigan, age 78, of Plano, Texas, passed away May 28, 2016 in Plano, Texas. He was born March 3, 1938 in Yonkers, New York to John and Ruth Harrigan. Jim moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1954.
He graduated in 1955 from Highland High School in Albuquerque. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1961. He followed with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University in 1974. Jim met and married his wife, Joan Landwehr, and they lived in Albuquerque until moving to Richardson, Texas in 1971.
Jim served in the United States Navy Reserves. He was in the Vietnam War. Jim loved the Navy. He spent his life serving in the Navy Reserves and retired as Captain in 1988. Jim was employed with the United States Army Corp of Engineer from 1960 to his retirement in 1998. He was member a Prince of Peace Catholic Church. After his retirement, he volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul at All Saints Catholic Church group and the American Red Cross. He will remain in our hearts forever and truly be missed by all that knew him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Tony Harrigan.
He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Joan Harrigan; four sons, Chris Harrigan, Kevin Harrigan and his wife, Robyn, Tim Harrigan and his wife, Lisa, and Bill Harrigan and his wife, Kellee; six grandchildren, James Harrigan, Hayden Harrigan, Ross Harrigan, Rileigh Harrigan, Danielle (Danni) Harrigan, and Tyler Harrigan; two brothers, Ray Harrigan and his wife, Lana and Pat Harrigan and his wife, Norma; and numerous other family members.
