He grew up in Artesia, New Mexico and graduated in 1977 from Artesia High School. He met the love of his life and best friend in Artesia and together they had two beautiful daughters.
James was a Master Plumber and Pipe Fitter and he loved what he did. He worked for General Hydronics in Alamogordo, New Mexico from 1983 to 2000. He then moved to Texas and worked for Polk Mechanical in Grand Prairie from 2001 till the present.
James loved spending time with is family and his animals. He was always a very kind and loving man to his family and friends. He was known to always be there to help anyone in need. Even though he loved New Mexico his home state, he was proud to be a Texan and loved the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. James will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
James is survived by his wife, LouAnn Pope; daughter Tiffany Pope Picazo; and daughter Alexa Pope; mother Eloisa Pope; mother-in-law Ruth Eberle; sister Jeannie Reynolds and sister Paula Artrip.
James was preceded in death by father, Paul Pope and father-in-law, Frank Eberle.
A viewing for James will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 8011 Frankford Road, Dallas, Texas. A funeral service will occur Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, A celebration of life & visitation will occur Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2:30 PM to 6 PM with a catered reception.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you donate in James' honor to the Texas Children's Hospital Cancer research. Live plants preferred instead of flower arrangements.
