

He was the third of eight children of Leonard Pershing Wynkoop (3/11/1919-1/30/90) and Lucille Catherine Fahlstrom Wynkoop (11/19/1923-5/30/1994).
Jim spent most of his childhood in Tacoma, Washington where he attended Holy Rosary School. He shared that he really began to appreciate his education because of an inspirational 7th grade teacher. He graduated with honors from Bellarmine High School in 1968 where he enjoyed sports, especially playing baseball. Jim graduated from the University of Portland in 1972. He served in the United States Navy Reserve. In 1972 he married Patricia Miller of Medford, Oregon.
Jim and Patty had two children who he loved dearly, Jonathon James and Jennifer Ann. While raising their children and pursuing their careers, they lived in Oregon, California, Colorado, and Texas. Jim was married to Donna Hill April,1995- January, 2012 and was a loving stepfather to Bethany Hill Frizzell and Nicholas Hill.
Jim worked for Skyline Champion as Controller for 29 years where he was appreciated for his work ethic, flexibility in traveling, and positive attitude. He enjoyed participating in recreational sports with family and friends and following his favorite collegiate and professional sports teams. He loved being outdoors taking walks, and especially using that time to engage with family, friends, and his faithful companion pets.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brother William Wynkoop.
He is survived by his son Jonathon and daughter-in-law Renee Wynkoop of Plano, Texas, daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Christopher Patrick, and granddaughter Elizabeth Rylee Patrick of Brownsboro, Texas, siblings Sister Lucy Wynkoop, OSB, John Wynkoop, Beth Stockley, Joan Hamilton, Janice Fite, Mary Kapphan, and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, located at a 5100 West Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093.
