Jay Kim (김초남) of Plano Texas, a father of Tae Hoon Kim of Plano Texas and Winton Jung Hoon Kim of Suwon South Korea passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Kim, whom he had been married to for 56 years. He was born on the lunar calendar date of January 14, 1945 in Japan as the eldest child to his mother Yoon So Im (윤소임) and his father Bok Won Kim (김복원). He and his family moved to the United States in 1983, and became a naturalized US citizen. He was a licensed contractor in California and worked in industrial construction and in home improvement most of his life. He is survived by his two sons, daughters-in-law, Yeunhee and Jasmine, two grandchildren, Ezra and Elie.
In accordance with Jay’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
