Joel Lynn Boles

He was born on February 21,1946 in Longview, Texas as the middle son to Frances (née Thompson) and John Boles. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet Darlene Hussey Boles, sons Brad (Ann) of Plano and Jeff (Malinda) of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition, he was the very best grandfather to Jake, Libby, and Nicholas Boles and brother to the late John (Linda) Boles Jr of Colorado Springs and Andy (Lesli) Boles of Dallas, as well as brother-in-law to Dr Jim (Judy) Hussey. He was also the beloved Uncle Joel to Julie, Mike, Hayley, Noah, and Jennifer.

Joel was raised in Forney, Texas where he met and married his high school sweetheart and later, raised his boys. He graduated from Forney High School in 1964 and attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a chemist and very loyal employee of BJ Services (later bought by Baker Hughes) for 50 years. As the son of a grocer, Joel never met a stranger and was a kind and generous man to all.

A celebration of life will be held at Ted Dickey East Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street in Plano on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please support a food pantry of your choosing.
