John and Wanda Stephens

John Raymond, 80, and Wanda Nell Stephens, 80, of Richardson passed away on May 18,2021. John was born August 8, 1940, in Tom Bean, Texas. Wanda was born April 20, 1941, in Decatur, Texas. March 31, 1962, John and Wanda married and began their 59 year love story.

John owned and worked at Custer Square Barber Shop for over 41 years. He was a supporter of first responders and the military. John enjoyed woodworking, reading, and gardening. Wanda spent 24 years working for Richardson ISD. She enjoyed watching the Cowboys, puzzles, baking and cooking, crafting, and teapot collecting. They both enjoyed attending various sporting events with family and for their grandchildren.

John and Wanda are survived by brothers and sisters, their son, Darrell, daughter in laws, Margie and Jana, and grandchildren, Kelsey, John Nix, and Matthew. John and Wanda were preceded in death by their parents, Raymond and Gladys Stephens, Earl Nix and Elsie Williams, numerous brothers and sisters, and their son, David Stephens.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Richardson East Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made in John and Wanda’s names to Richardson East Baptist Church where they enjoyed spending time with their church family.
