Mr. John Patrick O'Neil

John Patrick "Pat" O'Neil of Plano Texas passed away Thursday December 2, 2010. Pat was born June 15, 1936 in Beeville, Texas. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, I.P. and Kathleen O'Neil, and brother Louis B. "Tip" O'Neil. Pat resided in Plano with his wife of 49 years, Mary Frances O'Neil. He retired from the FDIC in 1996 after 30 years of service. His hobbies included traveling in his RV, knife making and genealogy.

Pat is survived by his wife, by his sons; John Patrick O'Neil Jr. (Amy) of Abilene, Texas, Francis Xavier "F.X." O'Neil of Uvalde, Joseph Michael "Mike" O'Neil (Melissa) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Robert William O'Neil (Meryl) of Wylie, Texas, and by his daughter Maureen Ann O'Neil of Allen, Texas. Also surviving are his grandchildren Austin, Adrian, Brandon, Rachel, Garrett O'Neil and Robert Justin Clark. In addition Pat is survived by his brother Thomas "Tommy" O'Neil of Beeville, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was born in Beeville, Texas on June 15th, 1936. He was the oldest of 3 children born to Ignatius Patrick O’Neil and Kathleen Wilson O’Neil. He attended Corpus Christi Academy, a Catholic boarding school before graduating from Beeville High School. After graduation he enrolled in St. Mary’s University where he earned degrees in finance and sociology.

Visitation and vigil services will be Sunday December 5, 2010 at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. Visitation is from 7 until 9pm with the liturgy service at 7:30PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Monday, December 6, 2010 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, TX. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association (P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, Texas 75284-1125).
