It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Tang, of Rowlett, Texas, who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 58.
John was born on May 19, 1968, in Vietnam to Nam Tang and Cam To Tran. His life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.
Born in the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese zodiac, John embodied many of the qualities associated with those born under its sign. People born in the Year of the Horse are known for their energetic, independent, and freedom-loving nature, and John reflected those traits throughout his life. He approached each day with determination and an eagerness to help others while remaining true to himself. His love of colorful Hawaiian shirts was a reflection of his free-spirited nature. Whether he was with family, among friends, or meeting someone for the first time, John brought warmth, authenticity, and an easy smile wherever he went. Hardworking, dependable, and compassionate, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. His selfless nature knew no bounds—whether assisting family, friends, neighbors, or even complete strangers, John never hesitated to offer his time, support, or encouragement. He believed that kindness was one of life's greatest gifts and shared it freely with everyone he met.
Above all else, John was a devoted husband and an adoring father. His love for his wife and daughter was endless and unconditional. Everything he did was rooted in his desire to provide for them, protect them, and bring happiness to their lives. His family was the center of his world, and the memories they created together will forever remain a source of comfort and strength.
John will be remembered not only for his generous spirit and quiet acts of service, but also for the warmth, humility, and compassion that touched so many lives. His legacy lives on in the love he gave to his friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife and cherished daughter, along with family and friends who will deeply miss his gentle presence and enduring love.
Though John is no longer with us in person, his kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing, and may he rest in eternal peace.
Please join the family in honoring John's life on July 8, 2026 at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, beginning at 10 a.m.
