Judy was born November 9, 1938, in Warsaw, New York. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was the oldest of 5 siblings. Judy’s siblings ranged from 5 to 20 years younger than herself. When Judy was 21 years old, her father took a job in St Louis, Missouri. Although she was a young adult, Judy chose to move with her family as she always cherished time with her younger siblings, often referring to the two youngest sisters as her babies.
Soon after moving to St. Louis, Judy met the young man she would marry, Edward Thomas “Tom” McCrann, Jr. Tom and Judy married on January 5, 1963, and remained devoted to one another until Tom’s passing in 2014. During the marriage, they had 3 children and lived in 5 states. The last move was to Plano, Texas in 1974 where the family remained. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Judy displayed great attention to detail and a strong work ethic. She put those strengths to work as a medical secretary early in her life. After raising her 3 children, she rejoined the workforce as a medical secretary at Plano Medical Associates. She remained with this group of respected doctors for forty years. Judy also enjoyed Afternoon Tea, gourmet cooking, and collecting fine china.
Judy and Tom raised their children in the Catholic faith. Judy remained a devout Catholic throughout her life and her religion brought her much comfort until the end.
Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom McCrann, her parents Lawrence and Lorraine Gibney, her sister and brother-in-law Lana and Jack Laramie, her brother Gary Gibney, and her nephew Glen Gibney. She is survived by her loving children Cyndi Wheless (Ray), Lisa Egner, and Steve (Suzanne). Judy also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Ryan Wheless (Emi), Emily Egner, Dylan Wheless, Sterling and Grace McCrann. Judy is also survived by her loving “babies” sisters Patty Klein (Steve) and Renee Correia (Andy) and her precious nieces and nephews.
