Lakshmi (Movva) Aradhyula
June 1, 1954 – November 20, 2018
Our dearest Amma, Lakshmi Aradhyula, passed away on November 20th 2018, with her children beside her. She has been called by many fond names like amma, abiki, akka, attayya, peddamma, pinni, bamma, ammamma and aunty by all of us who loved her very dearly. All her life she fiercely loved and cared for her family and friends (parents, husband, siblings, cousins, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many more).
She is remembered as a very jolly person with a feisty personality. She did not fear the unknown. She raised us very well, even times when our dad moved a lot for work and she needed to stay back to finish the school year so we didn't have switch schools in the middle of the school year.
She devotedly followed the preachings of Sri Ganapathi Sachidhanandha Swami every day. Hours before she passed she thoroughly enjoyed and sang along a divya namasankeerthana concert by Pujya Swamiji at the Frisco Hanuman Temple.
One anecdotal story we tell in our family about her dedication to us is from when Swapna and Padma Priya were in high school. In order to send them to the best prep school to get into college she didn't hesitate to pawn her wedding jewelry. The evening that she passed away, as we were receiving calls of condolence, all of the family were retelling many more stories of her sacrifice and devotion.
Towards the end of her of life she battled cancer very gracefully, at times hiding the excruciating suffering and pain, while still caring for my sick father in his final days and taking care of everyone else around her. Our recent best memories are of her caring for her grand children Saketh, Sahithi, Aditi, Pranav, Aaron and Byron. She loved and was beloved by the family dog, Tex.
Our lives won't be the same because of the physical void we feel in her absence, but we are comforted that her spirit lives with us forever. We will always be indebted for her sacrifice and devotion to us. Please bless on us everyday Amma, we love you forever!
Survived by her children Swapna Aradhyula (husband Venkata Dontaraju and their children Saketh and Sahithi), Padma Priya (husband Kiran Dowluru and their children Pranav and Adithi), Srinivas Aradhyula (wife Jennifer Roemer Aradhyula and their children Aaron and Byron; brothers Partha Saradhi, Rajaram, Prakash and sister Jayashree; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Sorry Padmavaru n family...it is a great loss. Your mom visited my flat in Hyderabad along with your dad once...they had little food, she called me back after and appreciated the food and preparations. I too had wonderful lunch from her when you all visiting Hyderabad and had interacted with her in multiple occasions. She even wished me good luck when I was looking for alliance for my wedding. Such a sweet person she was.
May her soul rest in peace.
