

Larry James Lansing, aged 86, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on May 28, 2026 at 12:23 pm Central Time. He was born in Boone, Iowa, and was raised on the family farm near Madrid, Iowa, where he developed the values of hard work, faith, and determination that would define his life.
In 1962, Larry began what would become a distinguished fifty-year career in the avionics and defense industry when he joined Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Larry worked in Information Technology and ran the data center operations for Collins. Larry also served as a Sargent in the Iowa Army National Guard while working at Collins Radio. Over the decades, he continued his service with Rockwell International and later with Boeing, from which he ultimately retired with great distinction. His career reflected not only his technical and leadership expertise, but also his unwavering commitment and dedication to his profession.
In 1985, Larry relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he made his home and became a beloved member of his community. He was a devoted member of Roaring Lambs Christian Church in Frisco, Texas, where his faith became a cornerstone of his life. Larry was a committed Christian who placed his trust and hope in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Beyond his career and faith, Larry embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He had a lifelong love of adventure, which he expressed through snow skiing in the mountains of Colorado and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also took great pride in his prized yellow Corvette and his Ford F-150 Platinum truck — vehicles that reflected his passion for the open road and the finer things in life. Larry always talked about where he grew up in Iowa on the farm and how proud he was of his Iowa work ethic.
Larry is survived by his sons, Brett (Wife Susan) and Todd (Wife Sylvia) Lansing and daughter Lori Lansing. Larry had four beautiful grand children; Lindsey Lansing, Brett (BJ) Lansing II, Adam Lansing, Luke Lansing; his great-grandchild, Liliana Mungioli; and his beloved siblings, Kenneth (Wife Mari)Lansing, Danny (Wife Jean)Lansing, and Kathy (Husband Timothy)Terrell.
In accordance with his wishes, Larry will be cremated at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Plano, Texas. His remains will then be returned to Madrid, Iowa, where he will be laid to rest at Hillsdale Cemetery beside his beloved parents, Raymond and June Lansing.
Larry James Lansing lived a life of faith, purpose, and adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished for generations to come.
