OBITUARY

Laurie Ann Fritz

January 5, 1964October 28, 2012

With great sorrow, yet abiding peace we announce that Laurie Ann Fritz was taken home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, she is now at peace. She finally has a healthy body and is rejoicing in her new heavenly home! She was born January 5, 1964 in Oklahoma City, but moved to Texas at 18 months of age. In middle school, she participated in cheerleading and played the French horn in the Lewisville Middle School Marching Band. After moving to Arkansas in the 8th grade, she graduated in 1982 from Parkview High School in Little Rock. From there she attended the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated with a degree in computer science. After a brief employment at Nortel in Dallas, she married Randy Fritz and shortly became the full time mother of two daughters and a part time assistant for the family business. She took great pleasure in helping other people, including helping her parents get settled into a retirement community in Dallas before taking a trip to New York City with Randy and the girls; then to Washington, DC and back to New York City for one more round of shows, Central Park, and fun places to eat. Laurie was also thrilled to be able to see her Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees and to attend two World Series games!! Even when she was sick, she didn’t miss a game on television. Laurie had three great passions: her family and friends, her dogs, and photography (especially of the girls and other people). After overcoming one battle with breast cancer and bravely persevering through her second battle when she found out the cancer had recurred in her bones in August 2011, she set an amazing example of strength and courage for everyone around her. Her will and determination to fight until the very end will always be an inspiration to those that knew her, and her sincere, kind and loving spirit will be dearly missed.Laurie Ann is survived by Randy, her husband of 24 years; daughters Stephanie and Julianna; parents Margaret and William Bogle; brothers Mike and Mark and Mark’s wife, Laurie Anne (the sister she never had, yet shared a name with, ironically enough); two nieces (Kristi Bogle-Sherman and Courtney Harmon), two nephews (Matthew and Ryan Bogle), one great-niece (Chloe Harmon), and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.A memorial service celebrating Laurie’s life will be held on November 3rd at 10:30am in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas.

From the time Greg and I received communication from Perry, we began to pray for you and your family. We didn't and still don't know how to sufficiently express our sympathy and concern. May your memories bring you comfort.

Dear Margaret and Bill, we wish there were words and deeds to minimize the sadness of losing your lovely daughter. We did not know Laurie Ann but can easily see she was your joy and that she will be missed everyday. We hope you can find strength in knowing she was loved by so many and the wonderful memories you have of her. Sincerely, Marshall and Thom Hall

Laurie's nieces Morgan and Macy Fritz and her nephew Chase Fritz will miss their Aunt Laurie very much. Growing up in the same area, they were around Laurie often. They remember fun trips to the park, to the swimming pool, eating out and going out for ice cream They could always count on Aunt Laurie for delicious chocolate baked goods at family gatherings.

When Macy Fritz was born and again during her heart surgery, Laurie stepped in as usual and kept Morgan and Chase for days on end. Morgan and Chase loved staying at Aunt Laurie's house and often wondered if they could just live over there. One night during one of their sleepovers with Julianna and Stephanie, Aunt Laurie got all the kids in the car at 11:00 at night to go get ice cream sundaes at Sonic! Aunt Laurie even took Morgan to her first concert, The Jonas Brothers! Laurie was always supportive of Morgan , Chase and Macy and was always genuinely proud of their accomplishments.
We all have such fond memories of Laurie and we already miss her so much. She was always wise beyond her years and gave me wonderful advice which I always followed. I just want to call her on the phone right now to tell her of the details of the past weekend because I know she would want to hear all the scoop on the friends and family!

Julianna, Stephanie and Randy this is the Groos Family. We learned of your Mom's passing and joining her Lord today in church.

We love each of you. We always have. And for me, (Cathy) your Mom and I just 'got' each other and she could make me laugh like no one else.

Our most blessed gift from the Discovery School was the Fritz Family being introduced into our lives.

All our love,
Cathy, Dave, Courtney and Travis Groos
