Lawrence Alvin Neve, age 80 gained his heavenly reward to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, May 29, 2022 in Plano, Texas. He was born on December 5, 1941 to parents, Carroll Erwin Neve and Nannie Faye Davis Neve. He was raised on the fringes of downtown Dallas in the Oak Cliff area and attended the Cliffwood Church of Christ in his earlier years. Alvin graduated from Sunset High School with the class of 1960. He later joined the U.S. Army and served there for 2 years with an honorable discharge. Later he attended Southern Methodist University and received a degree in electrical engineering. Alvin enjoyed many projects started in his garage, mostly electrical. There was nothing he could not repair, especially electrical. He loved to cook and majored in his famous, “strawberry cake.” He enjoyed traveling and getting together with special friends. Alvin was very faithful to the FriendSpeak program at Prestoncrest where he met with Leo Wu, teaching him to speak English better by studying the Bible together each week. He was very faithful to Friendspeak and to Leo.
His family will remember him as a dedicated Christian who loved family, worship service, and singing on the “praise team.” He has an outstanding tenor voice. He even sang a song to Margaret at their wedding September 28, 2008.
Alvin is eligible to be a member of “Sons of the Republic of Texas” due to the date his great-grandfather arrived in Texas from England. He was said to have a “land grant.”
Alvin placed membership at Prestoncrest Church of Christ in August, 2006 and remained a faithful member until his death last month in May.
