

Lung Chock Gow, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Dallas, Texas. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, March 29, 2 pm, at the Ted Dickey West Funeral home on 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Gow was born in Baisha, Taishan, in Guangdong, China, on October 3, 1937, to Sue and Ngow Nuey Gow. The eldest of seven children, he migrated to the US at age 12, and lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he graduated from Fair Park High School. When he was not in class, he served as president of the Civics Club and worked in his parents’ diner, New York Café. In 1960, he married Judy Kim Chin and moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for over three decades as a chef for the Houstonian Hotel, the Westin Hotel Galleria, and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy, his three children, Danny, Kenny, and Julie, two granddaughters, Irene and Natalie, his brothers Hing, Jones, Ray, and his sisters Jan and Mary. He was preceded in death by his sister Gwen.
