

In loving memory, Marjorie Jeanne Mefferd, known to many as Jeanne, passed away in Frisco, Texas at the age of 95. She was born in Laurens, Iowa. Attended a country school house to which she often walked from the family farm, then graduated from Laurens High School. Her parents, Richard and Amanda Weeks, gave her in marriage to Harry Mefferd on October 1, 1949. Jeanne and Harry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Barstow, California. She is preceded by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Richard Weeks. Her brother, David, lives in the Barstow area.
Marjorie Jeanne is survived by four children: Diana, Jacqueline (Mark), Dennis (Ana), and Duane (Natalie); Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Anne (Ted), Tamara, Scott (Anna), Dominique (Elesh), Kyle (Chrisabelle), Tyler (Paola), Branston, and Brielle; And sixteen great grandchildren: Martin, Paul, Benjamin, Vivian, Cole, Aiden, Reese, Josephine, Adalyn, Sansa, Ronon, Isabelle, Evangeline, Caleb, Lilian, and Ramona.
Jeanne and Harry explored their faith through the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Mormon churches. Marjorie Jeanne was adventurous and loved life. After the death of Harry, she developed many close friends in Barstow. Her family expresses deepest love and gratitude for friends, family and neighbors who loved and lovingly watched over her.
No services are planned at this time. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in the Swedish Mission Bethany Cemetery near Pomeroy, Iowa.
