We were Mark  and Ruthann’s next-door neighbors in Plano for almost 15 years and have so very many fond memories of all the happy times we shared together—from just hanging out at their home or ours , sharing a meal  and a cocktail or two—to their fabulous black-tie New Year’s Eve parties—and lots in between. We can still picture Mark standing at his backyard grill all day long  lovingly tending  the beef brisket to ensure it would be cooked to perfection

.Ruthann, there are no words adequately  express to you how  very sorry we are for your loss.  But we know that you and Mark made a treasure trove of happy memories over the course of your life together.   You will cherish those memories and as time passes, you will draw upon  them to sustain you and bring a smile to your face, which is what Mark would want you to do.     

And now, we’ll do what   Mark would have wanted us to do.  We’ll raise a glass in his honor.  Cheers, Mark,  fly high until we all meet again.  You will be missed.

We love Mr. Mark.  He showed my kids great love when he taught them practical skills in his shop.  He shared memories (and gifts!) from his childhood with them, along with lots of fun and some wisdom to boot.  We are all so thankful for him, and the world was made better because of his joy!

I met Mark a couple of years ago, and from the very beginning he had a way of brightening every moment. He was always smiling, always joking, always finding some clever way to make me laugh. His humor wasn’t just about being funny — it was his way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and seen.

Mark had a gift for offering thoughtful advice, the kind that came from real experience and a genuine heart. He shared pieces of his life story with such humility, never trying to impress anyone, yet always leaving an impression. He was incredibly smart, but you’d never hear that from him — his humility was one of the things that made him so special.

His resilience inspired me more than he ever knew, even in challenging moments.

One memory that stays with me is watching him build a patio floor in the middle of the summer just a couple of years ago. He worked with such love, passion, and focus that it made me realize how much is possible when you put your heart into something. That moment showed exactly who he was — dedicated, hardworking, and full of purpose.

Mark was a light in every room, someone whose presence made things feel easier, warmer, and better. I’m truly grateful I had the chance to know him. He will be deeply missed, but the impact he had will stay with me forever.

So many good memories.  Mark and Ruthann always made the trip to celebrate family weddings.  While in town they were able to relax at the lake and take a pontoon ride.  Our favorite memory was a family vacation at Table Rock lake when Mark and Ruthann brought their fun toys (bounce house, margarita machine) all the way from Texas. Everyone had such a good time.  We love Mark and will miss him very much.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mark for many years and met him and his wife Ruthann through the American rental Association, which they owned a rental store. They became fast friends of mine, and I hold them in my heart dearly and cherish all the memories and fun times that we have had over the years. Mark is a large presence. You always knew when he was in a room. His heart is bigger than anyone I know I will miss him dearly, but hold true and remember all the fun memories and time spent together.

Mark was happy spending time with his wife , family, and dear friends. He loved entertaining, was a great host, loved to grill, and I loved his jokes. I will miss him.

Mark was a treasured friend for over 30 years, and his kindness to our family — especially to our sons — will never be forgotten. He had a gentle spirit and a sincere heart that made people feel valued and cared for. Our lives are better because we knew him. While we miss him deeply, we find comfort knowing he is now with Jesus and at peace. He will always be remembered with love and gratitude. Rest easy, dear friend.
