Mary Margaret Maggard

Mary Margaret Maggard of Plano, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2016. She was born on September 24, 1955 in El Paso, Texas to Robert Pond and Mary Ann (Reynolds) O’Beirne. After spending her early childhood in St. Louis and New York, she lived with her family in east El Paso where she graduated from Eastwood High School. She studied history and biology at Baylor University in Waco and graduated from Baylor University Dental School in Dallas. She and her husband ran a private practice in Richardson for over 38 years. She was active in civic affairs including book clubs, St. Mark's Catholic Church, the Richardson Network of Community free dental clinic for uninsured children, the Collin County Adult Clinic, and Head Start.

Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Don Maggard; son, Matt Maggard and wife, Colleen; daughter, Catherine Maggard More and husband Colin Tulloch; brothers Robert, Patrick, John, Peter, Edward, and Colin O’Beirne; sisters Carolyn O’Beirne and Jeanne O’Beirne Soucy; mother, Mary Ann O’Beirne, and grandchildren, Tess and Merit.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Robert Pond O’Beirne, brothers, Robert Charles and William Francis O’Beirne, and sister, Virginia O’Beirne.

The family will receive guests at a visitation from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2016 with a Rosary Vigil to be held at 4:00 PM in the Chapel at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Dr., Plano, Texas, 75075.
