Michael J. Ellsworth, Age 60 of Plano, Texas died on October 19, 2020. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 13, 1960. Mike had a big personality and lived his life exactly as he wanted without reservation. He never met a stranger. He grew up playing football in Cleveland, Detroit, Dallas, Richmond, and Washington DC graduating with the class of 1978 from JJ Pearce High School in Dallas.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Business from the University of North Texas in 1983.
He followed in the footsteps of the family business by working in the automobile industry both on the retail side and with Ford Credit and later joined Lincoln Mercury as a field service manager.
Mike had a passion for cooking and pivoted his career into food service. He won a Chili Cook Off contest in 2012. He provided many delicious meals to those he loved and those in need.
He was devoted to his Bichon puppy Polar Bear aka “Little Buddy” who is now 17 and still with us. No one took better care of his pet.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Ellsworth of Dallas and his sister, Mare Berry, husband Bill Berry and nephew John Berry.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Agnes Ellsworth and father, Marvin J. Ellsworth of Plano, TX.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Friday, November 6th 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 5100 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093. He will be instilled in the columbarium at the church with both of his parents. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Prince of Peace Catholic Church
