Michael Henry Frageman went to heaven on March 6, 2018 after several years of illness. He was born in Michigan City, IN on June 2, 1947 to Henry and Marian Nolte Frageman.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda, son Chris and his wife Angela, and grandson Ford Michael; and his sister Susan of Florida. He also had many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews through marriage who loved him dearly.

Michael graduated from Ball State University in 1969 with a Secondary Education Degree and taught high school History. In 1974, Linda and Michael moved to sunny Texas where he had a successful career in the Insurance Industry. But promotions led to relocations in various states over 10 years. In 1995, a new opportunity arose and they returned to Texas where he became Chief Operating Officer of IvyGlen schools. He remained at the schools, which were very successful, until his retirement.

Michael was a devoted husband and father and an active Catholic. He did various volunteering at church including a Eucharistic Minister and the various communities in which he lived.

He coached his son's sport's teams through the years. He especially enjoyed supporting Chris's tennis career and watching years of tennis tournaments. He always had a book going either on history, politics or sports. A huge sports fan, he loved watching college and professional basketball and football, but also golf and tennis. But his very favorite team is the Fighting Irish! He was an avid ND football fan and was fortunate to have season tickets for several years. You rarely saw him without his "Irish" hat.

Most importantly, Michael had a heart that matched his 6'4" frame. He taught his wife and son patience, honesty, integrity and commitment and how to be a good Christian. He never judged and he loved unconditionally. He was our "rock" but he taught us well. We know you are in heaven and suffering no more. We love you and miss you and I know we will be together once more. Go Irish! Perhaps you can ask for a National Championship!!

We were so sad to hear of Michael’s passing. He was truly a gentle, kind, and giving man. I have such fond memories of our beach vacations at the Outer Banks and loved catching up when Matt and I were able to sneak away for a ND game. It meant the world to me that you ventured to Michigan for our wedding day and actively checked in to see how we were all doing. He will be missed dearly.

With love
Katie, Matt, Tyler and Thomas Gabrielli

I am so sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I worked with Michael and Linda as the Director of IvyGlen School in McKinney when it first opened. Michael took a chance on hiring me, often calling me Miss Wishy-Washy as I went from applying to be a cook to Asst. Director to him finally convincing me to come on as the Director. This became our little joke and we laughed often about it. I enjoyed working with Michael and getting to know him and Linda outside of work. He always knew when I was having a tough day and would do his best to cheer me up and take some of the pressure off my shoulders. The Company Christmas parties were never boring - filled with fun times and laughter. Michael was an inspiration to me as an employer and as a person. He will be greatly missed and remembered as the man who always had a smile on his face and a word of encouragement for those around him. Praying for the family and friends he left behind...

You both have been such a blessing to my mom (and dad)! I wish I could be there in person to show love and support you- but know that I do that from here. Praying for you nightly and hugs from me! xoxoxox
