Michael James Selner passed away on May 19, 2017, knowing the everlasting love of his beloved wife, Karen, of 52 years, his sons Matthew and wife Michelle, Bradley and wife Deedee, and his FAB Five grandchildren, Kate, Grace, Jack, Luke, and Emery.

Born on August 3, 1940 in Endicott, New York, to Loretta and Joseph Selner. Mike grew up in a loving and lively home with his eight siblings, Joe, Bill, Dorothy, Jack, Ruth, Ann, David, and Patty. Mike graduated from St. Francis Prep School in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, attended University of Notre Dame and State University of New York at Cortland, New York before joining the IBM Corporation in 1965. Mike married his soulmate, Karen Stone in 1964. He retired from IBM in 1995 and continued his love of sales training at the Acclivus Corporation until 2003. Mike was deeply patriotic, serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1960 to 1966, always paying honor to those serving in the military and first responders. Mike was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano, Texas where he formed life changing relationships with his “Band of Brothers.”

The Selner family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their “Earthly Angel,” Brenda, a.k.a. “Buddy,” for all her loving care that she gave unconditionally to Mike and his family. Also to VITAS Hospice and Arbor Hills Memory Care for their care and dedication to Mike and his family.

My deepest condolences to the Selner family. I just found out about Michael yesterday, Karen, and am so sorry for your loss. I've thought about you all so very often, and as usual, other things got in the way. Always enjoyed receiving your beautiful family Christmas cards. Would love to see if you ever get back "home." Sincerely, Pat (Svec) Wollin.

I feel the loss deeply even though we haven't seen each other since we were soulmates as kids. Too many great memories to list and many more that can't be divulged. I feel as though Mike is part of my DNA. A wonderful spirit, full of positive energy, and a true friend always. To Karen and the family I feel your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mike Hanley.

In honor and memory of one of the great ones! Mike was a colleague, a mentor but most importantly a kind, generous friend. I will always remember and cherish my trips with Mike as he guided me and inspired me during my early years at Acclivus Corporation. I never realized how much wisdom can be gained by just taking a walk with Mike as was always a custom of his after a successful teach together. He embodied all the principles that we taught about relationships, trust, value and respect. He was truly a gift that came into my life and left a memorable impact that will last forever. What I will remember most is his laugh, love of life and his compassion for others. Thanks Mike for seeing in me what at times I didn't see in myself. Keep the stories rollin' up in heaven til our paths meet again. My thoughts and prayers are with Karen and the family which is the greatest legacy any man can leave! In love and sympathy, Martin Carbone

To our Best Man: Many fine memories still exist from our summers together as lifeguards at En-Joie pool. I know you will now find a way to get back to Campville! Love, Dick and Mary Hopko.

We have enjoyed Mike's company as a neighbor for over 40 years and it will be hard to imagine how it will be without him. He was one of the most upbeat people I have encountered in life. We will miss him.

We wish Karen and her family the best in this very difficult time.
