Michelle Maria Vasiliu born May 6, 1950 lost her battle with uterine cancer on February 2, 2014 and passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas surrounded by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband Eugene Vasiliu and survived by their daughter Donna Vasiliu.
Born and raised in Romania, Michelle became involved in show business at an early age as a ballerina. In 1972 after meeting Eugene who was a musician, she joined his team and became stage manager for lighting, production, choreography, etc. and had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest artists of her time. She was also able to travel all over Europe while on tour with these bands and artists.
In 1982 in order to escape Communism in Romania, the family moved to the United States where they settled in Los Angeles. Here, she became a cosmetologist and worked in a very popular Beverly Hills Salon for 6 years. In 1988 the family moved to Dallas, TX . She continued to work in a beauty salon at the Galleria of Dallas, The Shops of Legacy and in the last 10 years, at Cooper Spa (located on the campus for Cooper Aerobics Center).
Her sense of humor and wit made her the life of any party or gathering she attended. She was a fighter through and through in protecting those she loved but at the same time, with a heart of gold, she would give the shirt of her back for anyone in need. She was loved and cherished by so many in the Romanian community as well those she worked with and her clients. She leaves behind many broken hearts in the wake of her passing because for those that knew and loved her, life will never be the same without her.
