November 11, 1959 – October 29, 2024
Nam Chau, age 64, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born on November 11, 1959, in Vietnam, Nam emigrated from his homeland in 1979, settling in Springfield, Missouri, before eventually moving to the North Dallas suburbs.
Nam was a man of quiet strength and unwavering determination. Known for his hardworking nature, he valued every dollar he earned and was both frugal and resilient in the face of life’s challenges. His love for life was simple yet profound, finding joy in the pleasures of watching WWE wrestling, martial arts, and action movies, as well as playing video games and indulging in the occasional lottery ticket, always hopeful for a small win.
Family was at the heart of Nam’s life. He was deeply connected to his loved ones, and the memory of those he lost remained close to his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hoa Truong (December 1995), his brother, Paul Hoa Chau (October 2019), his nephew, Nathan Chau (February 2021), and his brother, Hung Chau (January 2022).
Nam was a private man, content in solitude, and he found peace in the simple moments of life. He often sought solace in his faith, visiting the Buddhist temple, especially during the Chinese New Year, to reflect and find tranquility.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Minh, Van, Kim, and Vinh; and his cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom reside in the North Dallas suburbs. Though Nam preferred a quiet life, his legacy of hard work, dedication to family, and quiet strength will live on in those who knew and loved him.
Nam's cremains are currently at the Buddhist Temple Chùa Đạo Quang, located at 3536 N. Garland Ave., Garland, Texas 75040, in the Bảo Tháp building, K102. When entering the building, his cremains can be found on the right-hand side of the building wall.
