OBITUARY

Natalie Jean Choate

November 7, 1970July 11, 2013

Natalie Jean Choate aka “Nat Nat” entered time and space on November 7th 1970 in Tampa Florida. She came out alive and kicking. From the onset, Natalie demonstrated a life without fear. She loved to ride horses bareback and risk her 5 year old life climbing towering trees. Natalie split time growing up with her dad (Douglass Wheelock) and step mom (Linda Wheelock) in Spring Creek North Carolina and with her mom (Marguerite Hinson) in Tampa Florida. She had the best of both worlds. She enjoyed the mountains and the beach.

In the mid 1990’s, the adventuresome Natalie “got out of Dodge” and moved to Dallas Texas where she met the love of her life, her husband, and her best friend Kevin Choate. They enjoyed 14 wonderful years of marriage together and have three beautiful children – Nichole, Andrew, and David. Natalie loved to spend time with her family. She worked as an Underwriting Team Lead at Prime Lending in Dallas Texas and also served as Youth/Associate Pastor of Covenant Church McKinney. Natalie co-owns Revelation Dance Studio in Plano Texas, and she is the creative visionary behind the new and upcoming clothing line Anthem Wear (Clothed with a Cause).

Natalie always had a great affection for animals and leaves behind 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a sugar glider (Google it if you don’t know what one is). The best way to try and sum Natalie up in one sentence would be this ; Natalie lived and loved to give, and she was not afraid to tell you the truth whether you liked it or not. She loved the Lord and she loved people. She lived life to the fullest and fought valiantly to the end of her time here on earth when she went to be with Jesus on July 11, 2013. She is a champion and inspiration to her family and friends. The name Natalie means Christmas Child or Gift from God and those that knew Natalie would attest that she truly is and always will be a gift from God. Her anthem will be heard in Heaven and in the earth. We love you Nat Nat! See you soon.

A service to celebrate Natalie’s life will be held on Sunday evening, July 14th at 6:00PM at the Covenant Church, 2660 Trinity Mills Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006. Pastor Mike Hayes and Pastor Joel Scrivner will officiate. Natalie will be laid to rest in the Plano Mutual Cemetery prior to the service. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so in her name at the Covenant Church. Checks can be mailed to the address above.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the following ministry that works to combat human trafficking. This ministry was very dear to Natalie’s heart: Global Renewal http://www.globalrenewal.org

Pastor Kevin, you and your family are in my prayers. She was such a beautiful woman of God and made an impact on more people's lives than she could ever know. I am grateful I got to know both of you in my childhood. Peace be with you guys in this troubling time, and just keep dancing Pastor Kev. Love you brother.

The Choate family are in the Muraya family's thoughts and prayers during this very painful and difficult time. Natalie is special and will always be loved and missed greatly. We are honored and inspired to carry on her beautiful life, anthem, and legacy. Pastor Kevin, we are inspired by your utmost worship and faithfulness of Father God. For Pastor Natalie: Isaiah 58:8 "Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard." For Pastor Kevin, Nichole, Andrew and David: Psalm 119:76 "May Your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to Your servant." We continue to uplift you all in prayer -- please don't hesitate to let our family know if there is anything we can do. May the Almighty God comfort and strengthen you all, may He lift His countenance upon you and give you His peace that surpasses all understanding! We love and celebrate the Choate family!

To me, Pastor Natalie was very warm and soft spoken. But now her life is speaking volumes to us. She will be missed...please know that our prayers are with the Choate family.

You were in our prayers all weekend. We were hoping to return from Galveston in order to attend the service but we had to be there for Emily, whose level made it to the finals. Your faith and strength are amazing and moving. There was a moment of silence for your family at the competition as initiated by the Showstopper owner. The auditorium was full of people praying for you. You are blessed with the love and support of many friends and family.
